Women’s Leadership

Women’s Leadership Committee

Chairman: Connie Fuller

Women play an important role in agriculture, education, and community service. Our Women’s Leadership Committee brings members together to support local farm families, share agriculture’s story, and develop leadership skills through the Alabama Farmers Federation.

Agricultural Education

Through Ag in the Classroom, school outreach, and educational programs, members help students and teachers understand where their food comes from and how agriculture touches everyday life.

Farm Safety and Community Service

Our work includes promoting farm safety through the “Every Second Counts” initiative and supporting community service projects. Recent projects have included personal hygiene supplies for the Ronald McDonald House and appreciation gifts for nurses in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

Farm-City and Agricultural Traditions

The committee helps lead Jefferson County’s annual Farm-City Banquet, which is by invitation only. We also encourage participation in public Farm-City student contests and celebrate Alabama agriculture through activities such as the Heritage Cooking Contest and Alabama products outreach.

Leadership and Involvement

Members take part in educational meetings, leadership activities, agricultural advocacy, and state and national Federation programs. These opportunities connect women who care about farming and want to serve their communities.
