Investing in the Future: Jefferson County Farmers Federation Featured in Neighbors

Jefferson County Farmers Federation was featured on the inside cover of the September 2026 issue of Neighbors magazine. The feature highlights how membership dollars strengthened agriculture, education and youth leadership across Jefferson County during the past year.

Local investments included more than $25,000 in scholarships, $4,500 for local FFA chapters and an additional $4,500 for youth livestock programs. The Federation also contributed $5,000 to Jones Valley Teaching Farm and awarded a $500 classroom mini grant supporting agricultural learning at Deer Valley Elementary School.

Farm Day at the Birmingham Zoo, Farm-City activities, Chick Checkout and Ag in the Classroom gave students and families meaningful opportunities to experience agriculture firsthand. Together, these programs support young people, strengthen agricultural education and build lasting connections between rural and urban communities.
