The world's population is rapidly approaching the eight billion mark--that is a lot of mouths to feed! It is now more important than ever for the younger generation to get involved in agriculture. The Young Farmers Program in Jefferson County is a great way to get involved. The Young Farmers of Alabama is a leadership group that is part of the Alabama Farmers Federation.
We strive to promote agriculture and expand on young rural Alabamians interests. The Young Farmers address problems in today’s agribusiness world and strive to solve these problems so that our farmers in Alabama are profitable and as efficient as possible. Joining the Jefferson County Young Farmers gives you a voice in the largest farm organization in Alabama. Jefferson County is just starting our Young Farmers chapter so membership is our main priority at this time. You do not have to live on a farm or work in agribusiness to join. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about agriculture and promoting it throughout our county and state.
The Young Farmers Committee Officers include the following individuals:
Thomas Reeves, Chairman
Jeb Tate, Vice-Chairman
Holly Lynne Killian, Secretary
For more information or how to get involved, contact Thomas Reeves at Thomas.reeves@alafarm.com or Holly Killian at hlynne.killian@gmail.com for more information.
