Calling all bacon lovers! This is the recipe for you! Why have regular bacon when you can have "fancy" bacon? Thanks to board member Norman McClure for this mouth watering recipe.
1 pound thick sliced bacon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon instant coffee
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the thick sliced bacon onto the baking sheet lengthwise.
In a small bowl mix together the brown sugar, maple syrup, instant coffee and cocoa powder until it is well mixed. Using a pastry brush, brush each of bacon slices with the glaze.
Bake for 15 minutes and then remove from oven and flip over the bacon and brush the other side with glaze. Continue to cook for another 10-15 minutes. Watch that is does not burn.
Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to drain.
